Medications may cause visual side effects

Whether prescribed by a physician or purchased over the counter, many drugs can affect your vision. While some side effects may be only temporary, others can cause long-term changes in your eyes.
Combining medications can also cause visual side effects, so be sure your doctors know what other drugs your are taking before they prescribe a new drug. Also, it is important to let your optometrist know of any medications you are taking. Medications affect each person differently, but some common side effects include:

Blurry vision
Poor night vision
Dry eyes
Double vision
Increased pupil dilation
Sensitivity to light
Excessive tearing.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please consult your physician, optometrist and pharmacist.
