| Various corneal disorders such as infections, trauma, dystrophies, dry eye, and keratoconus are dealt with by our cornea specialists. We routinely perform corneal transplant surgeries (full thickness as well as lamellar keratoplasty) for a varied variety of disorders. Most cornea transplants are used to restore vision. Cornea transplants are sometimes performed for therapeutic reasons, as well. We have performed over 500 corneal transplants over the past 10 yrs. | |||

(Keratoconus is a disorder where the contour and thickness of the cornea is altered). The new C3R (corneal collagen cross linking with ribofalvin) treatment of keratoconus is aimed at stabilizing the corneal curvature. |
